The Paws at Home Pet Care Team includes vet nurses and vet nurse students and a team of people who

simply love animals. Our team consider your pets our family and care for them as carefully and as diligently as you do.

The Paws at Home team cover Hamilton, Cambridge, Te Awamutu and all surrounding areas.

Jan Rose - Chief Paw

Having been in the accounting and software industry for longer than she cares to remember, it was a welcome surprise when she realised how much she loved working at Paws Wellbeing Centre when she started working for Sarah in 2023.

Jan ran one of Tasmania's leading Miniature Goat farms breeding Australian Miniature Goats and operating a Farm Tour and Accomodation business until 2020. She has been mad about animals since she was a child and is passionate about bringing the best possible service and care to your dogs.

Our team is made up of skilled, wonderful people with a heart for animals, often with vet nurse or animal certification, which means we can administer medication and special cares.

From your first day as part of our Paws at Home family, we guarantee your pets will have a world-class client experience.

Sarah Stockdale

I grew up in a farming family and have had a life-long love for animals.

As a teenager I worked at a boarding kennels and cattery and showed corgis and shetland sheep dogs.

At present, we own Sasha, a beautiful Tokenise cat with a big personality.  It's Sasha who wins in the 'boss' stakes in our house!

I left the corporate world to follow my passion to work with pets. I saw a real need for a comprehensive service, providing proactive health and well-being care for pets at home by a qualified team with skills, passion and an absolute commitment to caring for animals.

Pet Minders

Paws at Home has a team of wonderful pet minders with vet nurse skills / animal certification and a sincere love for animals.

They'll look after your pets when you can't, providing the care your animals need and deserve.  We always organise a meet & greet prior to the first visit (no charge) so we can meet you & your pet(s) and understand your pets unique needs.

Home Hosts - some of our fantastic Team

River Rd - Hamilton

Lenore & Pat - We moved to Hamilton three years ago after living 20 years on a lifestyle block in Springston, Christchurch with the usual assortment of animals over the years, chickens, sheep, a goat, cats and always at least one dog, usually two. Louis, our chocolate Lab moved with us but sadly developed lung cancer last year and passed away.

We decided we wouldn’t replace him but the house without a dog in it, or to take for a walk, left a huge gap in our lives. Becoming home hosts with Paws at Home has filled that gap and we are really enjoying meeting owners and having their dogs visit or stay with us. We are both retired so have plenty of time to care for our doggy guests and find ourselves loving this new adventure.

Victoria (Horsham Downs). Having had dogs for many years, I understand how deeply we care for them. Our large block, just outside Flagstaff, is perfect for medium to large-sized dogs: a great outdoor space for exploring and playing; a comfy home where they live as part of the family; and always liberally sprinkled with plenty of attention and cuddles.

Eight years experience with greyhounds and the Greyhounds As Pets organisation, as well as having had an Airedale with special medical needs, I appreciate the trust required between all of us – and how re-assuring a daily update can be to owners.

Lindsey - Dogs have always been in my life and since I was a young girl our family have had dogs. I am English but have lived in New Zealand now for the past 14 years. I have a 14 year old Cavalier King Charles spaniel, Archie.

I also use the services of Paw at home for Archie. Sharon, my Pet Minder, feeds, chats, cuddles and checks Archie, also giving him the walk he requires. What I also love is that Sharon texts me afterwards so I know my boy is happy and well looked after. I am now happy to be able to offer this wonderful service myself and excited to be a Home Host for Paws at Home.

West Hamilton

Corilin - I had a wonderful upbringing on a farm surrounded by many pets.As a teenager I worked summer holidays in a boarding kennel and helped out at our local vet clinic.

At present, we have a 7-year-old Wire-Haired Jack Russel called Jonty, who loves to race around our lifestyle block. Jonty is an excellent swimmer, and in the summer months, he loves to cool off in our pool.We also have chooks, quail, sheep, parrots, a pampered cat and plenty of safe, stimulating space for visiting dogs to stretch their legs.I’ve always believed that our dogs are an important and beloved part of our life and should always be treated like family.

North Hamilton

My name is Marian, Des is my husband and Buster is our cherished 16-month Mini Schnauzer x Löwchen Pup.  Buster has brought so much happiness to our home since December 2018

We have always had animals in our life; we were both born on Dairy Farms in the Waikato, where we cared for various animals as we grew up.

Over the years, we have enjoyed the company of one cat, Sydney and a few dogs, a Samoyed, a Doberman, and a Mini Schnauzer

We have a dog-friendly, comfortable home and section a few minutes just north of Hamilton and we three, love the idea of sharing our place with your precious pooch

We will do our utmost to provide a seamless, loving home away from home, where we will care for your beloved pet, as you would at his or her own place.

Home Hosting

Our mission is to provide the pets entrusted to our care with a happy and exceptional experience in a safe and caring environment. If you have a genuine love for and experience and skills in handling dogs, you may want to apply to become a Paws at Home Host. You will need to have a fully fenced and secure section, be home most of the day and commit to having the dogs in your care be part of your family.
We work through a thorough application process, including a Ministry of Justice criminal conviction check, to ensure we provide the very best service.

Pet Minder

If you love animals and have some spare time, consider becoming a pet minder. The role can include feeding and caring for pets in their home and/or dog walking either as a 'one off' visit or a regular assignment.
